Claim analyst
Job Summary
- Analyse charterparties and all related shipping documents and create and compute demurrage and shipping-related claims with shipowners;
- Review charterparty related demurrage and shipping costs claims received;
- Analyse sale contracts and all related documents (including GTCs) and create and compute demurrage and shipping related claims with counterparties including suppliers receivers and terminals;
- Review demurrage and sales contract related demurrage and shipping costs claims received;
- Counter and negotiate settlements; Liaise with the internal business where required;
- Develop and maintain strong relationships both with counterparties and with the internal business;
- Assist in regularly reporting outstanding positions to Management;
- Keep abreast of industry developments and legal case law to ensure charterparty and/or trading terms are relevant and updated.
Qualifications :
- At least 3 years of working experience in demurrage/ claims (ideally in both charterparty and sale contract claims) handling the whole spread of demurrage claims across the full value range
- Tertiary education - Polytechnic Diploma and above
- Analytical numerate hardworking and proactive
- Meticulous with an eye for details
- Open to embracing AI tools and technologies to drive efficiency in day-to-day tasks.
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- Able to work in a team and independently
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
