Associate Technician
Job Summary
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team in one of the various laboratories across Element the Associate Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation commissioning and maintenance of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring systems at project sites.
- Carry out routine field monitoring works including settlement vibration tilt groundwater level and ground/structural deformation measurements.
- Record verify and maintain accurate monitoring data in accordance with project procedures and requirements.
- Support engineers and surveyors in site investigations instrument inspections and data collection activities.
- Conduct regular checks on instruments and site conditions to ensure proper functionality and reliability of equipment.
- Report abnormal readings equipment defects or site-related issues promptly to the supervising engineer or designated personnel.
- Ensure all monitoring activities are carried out in compliance with site safety regulations and company procedures.
Skills / Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles (soil behavior settlement groundwater)
- Familiarity with monitoring instruments (inclinometers piezometers extensometers settlement markers data loggers)
- Ability to assist in the installation and maintenance of instruments
- Basic understanding of site surveying and reading engineering drawings
- Able to collect record and check field monitoring data accurately
- Basic Excel skills for data entry and reporting
- Awareness of construction site safety requirements and procedures
- Physically fit for outdoor and construction site work
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Team player with a willingness to learn and improve technical skills
- Willingness and ability to work night shifts when required depending on project and site requirements.
