New Technologies & Special Projects department is looking for an Project Development Manager.

Mission of the Role: To originate structure and develop early-stage innovation and new technology projects transforming ideas into bankable initiatives and pilot projects deployed in RGA assets while securing external funding and fostering new business growth opportunities.

What you will do:

Identify structure and develop early-stage business opportunities enabled by new and emerging technologies leveraging RGA assets.
Contribute to ideation activities transforming ideas into structured projects.
Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify innovative solutions to concrete problems.
Support the creation of a robust pipeline of innovation and special projects.

Plan and coordinate pilot and demonstration projects of new technologies in RGA assets.
Define pilot scope objectives success criteria timelines and resources.
Ensure pilots generate scalable learnings.
Prepare and coordinate applications to European funding programmes (e.g. Horizon Europe Innovation Fund LIFE).
Identify relevant calls assess eligibility and support consortium building.
Prepare R&D incentive and tax credit applications (e.g. SIFIDE).
Participate in startup assessment activities.
Liaise with startups R&D centres and technology providers.
Support proof-of-concept definition and execution.
Interface with RGA Global Research & Innovation (GRI) and regional teams.
Support cross-regional coordination.
Disseminate lessons learned and best practices.

Validate and help the organization to find solutions to optimize the economic business case of early-stage technology.

What are we looking for:

  • Bachelors degree or preferably a Masters degree in Engineering Energy Systems Economics Management or related fields.
  • Experience in origination project development or innovation management.
  • Proven experience with European funding proposals.
  • Experience with pilot projects in operational assets.
  • Experience in hydropower and thermal generation technologies and/or robotics technologies will be highly valued.
  • Strong business development mindset.
  • Understanding of innovation processes and TRLs.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and solid knowledge of English.
