Manufacturing Operations Supervisor Core Diagnostics Division
Location Leça do Balio / Porto
Position Full-time
Primary Function
Lead Assembly Operations at the Porto site ensuring reliable execution of production adherence to quality and compliance requirements and achievement of output service level and inventory objectives.
Own daily shopfloor performance lead and develop assembly operators and drive operational stability efficiency and continuous improvement.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Leadership & Execution
- Lead and develop assembly operators (task allocation performance management training discipline)
- Own daily production execution and ensure adherence to production plans
- Ensure manufacturing schedule performance service level and output targets
- Maintain stable predictable production flow and resolve issues in real time
- Support manufacturing activities during peak demand periods if required
- Drive process improvements and operational changes
Operational Coordination & Planning
- Plan release and monitor production orders in ERP
- Ensure material tools and documentation readiness for production
- Balance workload and optimize resource utilization
- Identify bottlenecks and execute immediate countermeasures
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliant execution of all manufacturing activities in line with quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain traceability documentation accuracy and process adherence
- Perform incoming inspection and ensure material quality before use
- Drive containment of non-conforming material and support CAPA processes
- Drive operational compliance activities
Logistics Inventory & Material Flow
- Ensure efficient material flow from inbound to production and outbound
- Maintain inventory accuracy and traceability within ERP
- Coordinate shipments dispatch readiness and warehouse activities
Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate material availability with suppliers ensure on-time deliveries and operational follow-up as well as avoid shortages and quality issues
- Monitor supplier delivery performance and support escalation activities when needed
People Development & Leadership
- Ensure training onboarding and development of assembly operators
- Build a high-performance accountable team environment
- Ensure clear communication expectations and performance standards
EHS & Compliance Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety requirements
- Maintain a safe and organized workplace
- Ensure all employees follow safe working practices and regulatory standards
EDUCATION
- Minimum education: High school diploma (12th grade) or equivalent technical qualification
- Bachelors degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in leading shop floor teams or supervisory responsibility
- Strong understanding of production processes material flow and quality requirements
- Good English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel Word Outlook etc.)
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic manufacturing environment
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in electronics or regulated manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with manufacturing traceability and quality control processes
- Experience with production planning or inventory management activities
- Knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira Confluence)
- Understanding of manufacturing workflows and material flow processes
