Summary:

The Transportation Manager plays an essential role in the North America team and is the key interface between Keter s global operations, Demand Planning, and Merchandising teams.The position is responsible for managing optimal inventory levels in a fast-paced environment while maximizing sales opportunities through effective inventory management.This includes managing inventory levels to align with financial targets, identifying continuous opportunities to improve the flow of Supply throughout the global network, driving collaboration through CPFR and the S&OP process, and minimizing risks to the business by proactively identifying and resolving supply issues within the global network. The role will work closely with Sales, Operations (Supply Chain), Finance, and our external retail partners.


In This Role, You'll Have The Opportunity To:

Ocean Freight:

  • Track vessel status from departure point to arrival in US ports; provide proactive communication to Sales Operations & Logistics as needed
  • Coordinate vessel arrivals at North American ports
  • Primary point of contact with freight carriers in North America to address issues, improve communication, and optimize processes
  • Provide guidance & recommendations to Logistics, COO, PMO business analyst on changes to transit times for vessels

Land Freight:

  • Support land freight coordination and scheduling to ensure appropriate resources are in place to support initiatives across North America
  • Support & coordinate vessel arrival to ensure drayage available / sufficient capacity for rapid transfer of goods to the warehouse(s) across North America
  • Communicate issues from freight providers and work collaboratively with them for rapid resolution across North America
  • Ensure timely delivery of containers to customer for DI
  • Report carrier failures and work with Savannah manager / director import logistics to flag issues to customers & quickly resolve
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams on executing key initiatives, proactively communicate issues and work creatively on action plans to resolve
  • Execute initiatives that minimize costs, reduce penalties (late shipments, shortages), optimize inventory flow (working capital reduction)
  • Manage all containers from the port to the warehouse to ensure FIFO, inventory is available in the warehouse to support orders (both brick & mortar & drop ship), move inventory out of containers as quickly as possible to mitigate demurrage
  • Manage inventory movement track where inventory is located, how much, time at each location to mitigate any demurrage and reduce costs
  • Flagging hot orders and helping to flawlessly execute drop trailers, LTL, Drop ship
  • Escalate issues to leadership where appropriate

Requirements :

What You Need To Succeed:

  • Track record of working across several different categories, with knowledge of peak season planning
  • Experience working with global ocean freight carriers
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams on initiatives that improve forecasting, minimize inventory, optimize cost to serve
  • Strong communication skills
  • Systems knowledge in SAP, APO
  • Entrepreneurial, agile mentality
  • Ability and willingness to drive process development and improvement
  • Ability to maintain and improve key performance indicators, including in stock %, Vessel on time performance, Forecast accuracy, Inventory location, demurrage, FIFO


Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in global supply with a durables company; demand experience preferred
