Sr. Principal Engineer Electrical Controls

Reporting to the Director of Engineering you will be seen as an expert spanning both the Plant Floor Operational Technology and Information Technology disciplines across both Engineering and IT organizations, supporting the Conagra Connected Shop Floor (CSF) initiative. Possesses a keen understanding of the ISA-95 Automation Pyramid, Levels 0-3 (Sensors & Signals, PLC, SCADA, MES) and plant floor networking concepts (CPwE, OSI Model, Network Routing, Segmentation, and Security). You'll provide technical leadership, advice, and direction to capital project teams and CSF site champions across the Conagra enterprise (40+ sites)and assist with the maintenance, operability, and functionality of the installed CSF platforms and applications.


Position Responsibilities

Develop, institute, and maintain 3rd Party equipment specifications relating to CSF, including PLC programming requirements, data tag definitions and formats, tag naming conventions, data flow architectures, networking requirements.
Provide input and help develop capital project estimates, as it relates to CSF, ensuring scope and costs are identified and included in project budgets
Asist with the development of CSF Long-term Support and Management of Change processes and programs related to plant floor specific (OT) activities
Develop and institutionalize OT specific change management procedures on the plant floor to maintain CSF data integrity
Develop and maintain working relationships with each plant's Electrical & Controls CSF representatives, 3rd Party equipment vendors, preferred System Integrators, and Conagra IT service providers
Provide Technical Support to Plant representatives and Systems Integrators for new and existing CSF installations and Use Case rollout efforts
Partner with Solution Architects to build and provide guidance on technical designs for the suite of CSF and 3rd party equipment vendor applications
Develop best practice lifecycle management processes and procedures (version control, patching, upgrades/updates) for the associated CSF applications
Work with Conagra's Information Security team developing data security governance standards and architectures
Keep current with latest industry IIoT trends, regulations, and requirements as they relate to the Conagra CSF implementation
Provide CSF team guidance and training support


Position Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science and 8 plus years of experience
Or 15+ years of related plant floor automation experience
Expert knowledge in manufacturing automation systems with a focus on Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley control systems, SCADA implementation (Ignition), and Database integration (SQLServer)
High-level understanding of networking technologies, architecture, and design principles
Experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) systems and software applications
Experience in food manufacturing operations and food manufacturing conceptual design preferred.
