Job Title: Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Job Description:
The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for monitoring the data communications network through the use of console-based event management tools to ensure that the network is available to all system users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Management or a related field
- Must have strong written and verbal skills (English language)
- 10+ years of related network operations experience, cybersecurity engineering experience a plus
- Strong background in Cisco, Silverpeak, routing/switching and firewall configuration
- Experienced in leading complex network projects
- Familiarity with Data Center Infrastructure
- Strong understanding of MPLS, BGP, TCP/IP, and IPv4/6
- Strong understanding of Wireless technologies
- Strong troubleshooting skills and proven track record of getting your hands dirty to cut through ambiguity and fix network problems.
- Industry certifications relevant to the role such as: CCNP, CCIE, SPSP, CISSP
- Experience with firewalls (Cisco (Sourcefire/Firepower/FTD)
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL)
- Experience with security processes and documentation
- Experience with logging technologies (Rapid7)
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring technologies (Solarwinds)
- Good scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell)
- Experience with Cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
- Experience with Network Access Control solutions (Cisco ISE)
