Seeking a Safety Representative for a leading energy construction company based in Manchester, CT.
The ideal candidate has experience with Safety Management within a construction or utilities environment. You are a positive and proactive safety leader that leads by example. Must be organized and have the ability to train or present.
What you will do:
Organize, coordinate and maintain the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) activities, including training and compliance, for the respective Operating area. This position receives direction from the Safety Manager and assumes a team member role with other Safety personnel within the company.
Inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state and federal safety policies and regulations.
Develop and promote a culture that delivers safe workers and a safe work place.
Implement accident prevention activities as directed or needed.
Act as the technical resource in respective Operating area for HSE and DOT related issues.
Conduct safety orientation and training in a timely, professional manner. Deliver quality presentations.
Conduct accident investigations on time.
Assist in injury/illness case management. Avoid injuries becoming OSHA recordable. Make internal and external customer service a top priority.
Assist Operating area management in executing safety responsibilities and in making safety efforts successful.
Recommend safety improvement/accident prevention methods.
Work with Operating area management to integrate HSE into daily work procedures.
Requirements
College graduate with a focus on Safety Management.
Any construction experience is a plus.
Basic knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA laws and regulations.
Current valid driver s license. Must be able to meet the Company s driving standards.
