You will grow and lead a team of applied research engineers in the creation of new capabilities and product experiences powered by CV. This will involve highly cross-functional work partnering closely with Product, Design, Engineering and others across eBay to both help and delight our customers.

A successful candidate will have experience defining measures of success for cutting-edge research and innovation to be brought to products in a continuous manner while growing the team. This will also require fundamentally strong technical ability, experience in people management, deep collaboration and communication skills and the drive to bring these experiences to our customers in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


About the Team:


The Computer Vision team at eBay Core AI is looking for highly qualified candidates for the full-time Senior CV Applied Research Manager position in our alluring NYC office. The CV team works on capabilities at the heart of new product experiences. eBays strategic vision is to become the best global marketplace for buyers and sellers through a tech-led reimagination of the company.
With hundreds of millions of buyers and sellers, 1.3B+ of live listings at any point of time, eBay provides an outstanding environment to make broad business impact with product experiences that delight our customers.


Basic Qualifications:


MS or PhD in computer vision, machine learning or related areas

5+ years of experience managing applied researchers in teams delivering product capabilities utilizing CV

10+ years of relevant industry experience

Track record shipping CV products

Strong technical ability in CV and ML

Experience hiring, coaching and developing world-class CV applied researchers

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Experience in ecommerce a strong plus

Highly-motivated, life-time learner
