Our client is seeking to recruit a Lead for the Engineering QA team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing enhancing and maintaining our firmware/hardware QA infrastructure to support our expanding product line. This role requires someone with robust quality process management skills and expertise in both software and hardware engineering.

The Lead of Engineering QA will also be tasked with planning developing and implementing procedures for testing and evaluating engineering devices in alignment with relevant product specifications industry standards and governmental regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead and contribute to the development of test plans including writing test procedures executing tests generating test reports and managing software problem reports.
Supervise the design and implementation of manual automated and semiautomated test equipment and software to improve efficiency and test coverage.
Design review and optimize acceptance test procedures to ensure comprehensive coverage of system requirements.
Develop and maintain thorough documentation for test procedures systems and equipment.
Identify and implement enhancements in test coverage cycle time reduction scalability and overall quality.
Provide regular progress updates on test development projects and foster crossfunctional collaboration to address technical hurdles.
Prepare estimates for material cost and timing and create reports and design descriptions as needed.
Participate in formal software qualification or certification activities aligned with thirdparty and/or governmental standards.
Review and update documents such as user manuals integration guides and test reports for various products.
Participate in defining requirements and ensuring traceability from definition to test reports.


Requirements



Bachelors degree in computer/electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience leading a software quality assurance team.
Proficiency in planning and implementing quality assurance systems including processes documentation tools and automation.
Familiarity with the electrical industry and relevant government regulations/standards.
Experience in quality assurance of embedded systems.
Familiarity with software test frameworks (e.g. Robot Pytest Lava) and associated data formats (xUnit).
Knowledge of electrical equipment and electronics.
Familiarity with a wide range of test equipment and methodologies.
Proficient in automation principles and interfacing with equipment and products.
Understanding of data acquisition systems and protocols (e.g. GPIB SCPI).
Knowledge of system safety and regulatory standards.
Familiarity with requirements management problem tracking configuration management and test management tools (e.g. XRAY R4J JIRA).
Knowledge of the electrical energy and renewables field.
Familiarity with software development processes (e.g. Agile CI/CD).

Bonus Skills:

Bilingualism (English and French written and spoken).
