Pesticide Applicator Licensed Field Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pesticide Applicator Licensed Field Technician at Casey & Company Interiors & Fine Gardens is responsible for the application of pesticides in various landscaping projects. This role involves handling and applying chemical treatments maintaining equipment and ensuring adherence to safety and environmental guidelines. The technician will collaborate with the landscaping team to ensure integrated pest management and client satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Applying pesticides in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and label instructions.
  
• Diagnosing and managing pest issues while minimizing environmental impact.
  
• Keeping accurate records of pesticide usage and client interactions.
  
• Inspecting and maintaining equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  
• Working collaboratively with landscaping teams for integrated pest management.
  
• Educating clients on pest management and landscape health practices.
  
• Staying current with industry best practices and maintaining licensure.
  
• Complying with all safety regulations and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
  
• Reporting any safety incidents or concerns to the Foreman Safety Director or HR Manager.
  
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
  

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES)

• Must possess a valid Pesticide Applicator License in DC MD & VA.
  
• Ability to obtain a valid state driver s license prior to employment.
  
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in pesticide application or related field.
  
• Knowledge of local pest species landscape plants and applicable safety precautions.
  
• Ability to work independently and manage daily activities according to the work schedule.
  
• Physical ability to handle strenuous tasks and work in various weather conditions.
  
• Effective communication skills both oral and written.
  
• Proficiency in the use and maintenance of equipment and tools.
  
• Ability to understand follow and convey written and oral instructions.
  
• Consistent dependability in attendance and reliability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Implementation of Landscape Plans: Execute detailed landscape designs, including reading and following scale and cross-section drawing Supervision of Planting: Oversee the planting and propagation of bedding plants. Documentation Management: Track and maintain relevant files and paperwork. Design and Measurement: Measure sites and create scale, cross-section drawings, and designs. Storm Water Management: Calculate storm water run-off capacity and assess water run-off predictability. Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to proper safety and incident reporting procedures. Completed higher education degrees may substitute for experience Experience: Minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Plant and Horticulture Expertise: Expert knowledge in plant care, horticulture methods, landscaping, and tree cultivation. Technical Skills: Proficiency in rain garden maintenance, soil type identification, and appropriate soil amendments. Licenses: Valid state driver s license. Physical Ability: Capable of lifting heavy objects, standing for long periods, and performing labor in various weather conditions. Communication Skills: Effective oral and written communication abilities. Safety Knowledge: Understanding of first aid and safety precautions. Technical Proficiency: Competence with MacOS, Microsoft Word, Excel, 3D design software, and company-specific systems.
