A better way: Why we created TreasurySpring.

TreasurySpring is the product of an obsession with fixing the fundamental structural problems in the money markets. Our fascination with the sector began painfully, during the Great Financial Crisis of 2008, where we had a front-row seat for the Lehman default, the evaporation of liquidity in fixed income and the near collapse of the entire short-dated funding markets. But we believe there is a better way and TreasurySpring has been on a mission to offer part of the solution since then. Learn more about how we do that here.

The role:

We re looking for our first dedicated people hire! This would be an ideal opportunity for a rising star ready for their first HR leadership role, with the intention for this position to escalate to Head Of level in the next 18 months.

The TreasurySpring team has grown to almost 40 people since the company was founded in 2016. We recently closed a 29m Series B funding round to further transform the way companies invest their cash and we invite change-makers to be a part of that mission.

Our Head of Community, Miriam Smetten, has done a fantastic job at overseeing all things people-related so far, with support from external consultants. With further expansion on the horizon, we ve all decided it s time to bring in a specialist who can take a fresh look at everything and make sure we re hiring, onboarding and looking after our people in the best possible ways.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone energetic and data-driven with a growth mindset to help us take the business through its next chapter. You ll be able to take ownership of the entire employee lifecycle and put your own stamp on things, without having to build everything up from scratch!

We re looking for someone with several years (likely 6+) of HR experience - ideally some in a fintech/finance environment - who can build trust with the team, help us implement best practices and challenge us in a friendly but firm way when required. This is very much a hands-on role which currently doesn t have any direct reports (though you ll get some administrative support from other teams), so you ll need to be happy to tackle anything & everything from the highly strategic and complex to the nuts & bolts basics.

Some of your key colleagues will be:

  • Miriam Smetten, Head of Community - as employee no.2 at TreasurySpring, as well as the person who has been overseeing all things people-related so far, Miriam will be a strong dotted line for you as you get to know the company!
  • Sophie Forbes, Head of Legal
  • Matthew Longhurst, Co-founder & COO/CFO
  • James Skillen, Co-founder & CTO
  • Other Department Heads

Tasks

What you ll do:

  • Performance and progression:
  • Put programmes into place to train and empower our people managers as well ensuring the wider employee population has access to learning & development resources
  • Design, develop and oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations and feedback mechanisms

Hiring and employer brand:

  • Design and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates
  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process for employees, including role scoping, job posting, screening, sourcing, interviewing, negotiating and extending job offers
  • Lead on developing our employer brand

Culture and relationships:

  • Help us to crystallise and implement our company values in practice
  • Oversee & implement DEI initiatives
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the company
  • Oversee our office spaces in Central London
  • Act as a sounding board for the leadership team on any & all areas relating to people & talent, organisational structure and the people aspect of company growth

Employee engagement:

  • Lead on planning & executing team events such as annual company offsites and more regular team touchpoints
  • Work closely with the leadership team to develop surveys and strategic programs to monitor and maintain employee engagement

HR reports and metrics:

  • Monitor and track key HR indicators such as turnover rates, recruitment effectiveness, etc.
  • Use HR data and analytics to provide insights and recommendations to the leadership team for informed decision-making
  • Work closely with our Finance Director to monitor and forecast headcount costs

Compensation & benefits:

  • Conduct salary benchmarking and research to ensure our compensation packages are attractive and market-driven
  • Oversee our employee benefits programs, reviewing as necessary to ensure our offering remains competitive

HR policies, procedures and best practices:

  • Ensure we are in compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations and trends (in collaboration with our Head of Legal)
  • Ensure our company policies are clearly documented, accessible and easily understandable
  • Stay up to date with legal requirements and industry HR trends
  • Onboarding & offboarding processes: ensure new employees are set up for success in their role, integrated into the company culture and have a smooth departure if & when they leave
  • Implement and manage HR systems and processes to capture and maintain accurate employee records (with administrative support)

Premises:

  • Oversee and manage our office spaces in central London (with administrative support) to ensure we re providing optimal space for our teams to work from

Employee relations:

  • Handle any informal or formal disputes, grievances or disciplinary proceedings in collaboration with our Head of Legal as needed

Internal communications:

  • Work closely with the leadership team on internal communications
