Oracle Database Administrator

Role: Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Nashville, TN (Remote)

Roles & Responsibilities:

Primarily role is support DBA for production and non-prod database environments.

Provide on call support.

Handling severity 1, 2 incidents in LIVE call with multiple stakeholders.

Handling service request and change request to DBA team as per ITIL process.

Administer and manage Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Support Oracle RDS, EC2 based and on-premises databases

Define performance benchmarks of queries and troubleshoot performance issues.

Handle large database estate and manage TB size of database.

Troubleshooting high availability setup (RAC and Data guard).

Perform database patching for single node, data guard, RAC database.

Coordinate and work with database vendor for resolution on major incidents.

Define and configure the disk and disk groups in ASM.

Plan and implement database upgrade and migration.

Plan and implement the backup/recovery on need basis.

Database refresh, re-org, backup using RMAN and 3rd party tools.

Periodic database instance performance review and tuning recommendation.

Monitor alerts and take action to reduce the occurrence.

Installation and administration of Oracle 19c, 12c, 11gR2 on UNIX (AIX/Linux/Solaris) servers

Write and troubleshoot shell scripting, SQL and PL/SQL scripts

Required skills:

Strong DBA support role experience on Oracle 19c, 12c, 11gR2.

Hands on experience in migrating database from on-premises to AWS RDS and EC2.

Hands on experience in maintaining AWS RDS databases and working with AMS support.

Oracle Enterprise Manager administration experience.

Database upgrade and migration experience.

High availability (RAC), Data guard troubleshooting experience.

Disaster recovery design, planning, setup and administer the Data guard (standby).

Strong performance analysis on AWR, ADDM, SQL Profile, ASH and advisory views.

Co-ordinate and execute quarterly critical patches to database.

Multi-tasking skill to handle various support tasks.

Flexibility, good attitude.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
