Operations Manager - Packaging KZN

A leader in the packaging industry is looking for an energetic and dynamic Operations Manager to run their busy continuous production facility based in Durban.

Responsibilities include:

• Being accountable for ensuring that the factories are engineered excellently
  
• Ensuring proper root cause analysis of process flows that aren t working and finding sustainable solutions to those problems
  
• Management of installation of new equipment and production systems in the plant
  
• Support to the Production Managers to ensure their KPA s are met (factory numbers are blue)
  
• Mentoring and training of production staff at all levels
  
• Review the maintenance spend monthly
  
• Review spares holdings and ensure correct stock holding in place
  
• Responsible for all Mould Maintenance in the Factories
  
• Ability to put together CAPEX proposals and manage them effectively
  
• Ensuring that plants run efficiently and meet required targets (Waste CPK Efficiencies etc)
  

Requirements

• A completed BSc BEng or BTech Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree
  
• Preferably 3 years or more FMCG Operations/Factory/Site or Plant Management experience (managing more than one Factory or Business Unit)
  
• Handson technical experience with PLC s Hydraulics Pneumatics gears motors etc. in current or previous roles
  
• Strong Excel an understanding of SAP and FSSC
  
• Solid Budget writing and management are essential
