Operations Manager.


Compensation: 50k per annum Discretionary bonus (up to 15k per annum).

Location: Head Office London.

Travel: 25%.


This role will work closely with senior management of Curaa Group which operates a growing number of care homes across the UK. We are growing fast having increased our footprint from 30 to 145 beds in less than 36 months. We provide personcentred care focussing on residential nursing and nursing dementia services and are now in the process of implementing the next stage of our fiveyear plan.


Our growth has resulted in the need for this new role to join the management team and help the Directors deliver on the objectives of Curaa Group.


The Operations Manager will provide strong inspirational leadership to the individual home teams and across the company. They will ensure that the Homes comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements and identify ideas to improve quality standards and drive the financial performance of our key performance indicators (KPIs).


The Operations Manager will implement and monitor improvement plans for enhanced quality of care and financial performance. The role carries delegated accountability for the care and financial performance of the homes. The responsibilities of the role are managed through a team of Home Managers who in turn carry delegated authority and accountability within the company.


The successful applicant will focus on a few key areas:


Human Resource Management

  • Regularly monitor the performance of all staff giving support to Managers on specific staffing issues including recruitment campaigns communication needs disciplinary and grievance matters in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure staff resources at home level are available and used efficiently to achieve best operating and financial results.

  • Agree training and development needs for all staff with Managers. Undertake formal supervision with Home Managers minimum bimonthly.

  • Create and foster a culture of local community engagement and integration; this will involve developing strong relationships with relevant CCGs and Local Authorities.


Quality Assurance

  • Ensure that Home Managers are familiar with and comply with all Company policies procedures and legislative requirements.

  • Ensure these requirements have been conveyed to all staff.

  • To complete internal audits and reports and develop continuous improvement plans and help Managers complete them within agreed timeframes.

  • Ensure that agreed safety procedures are carried out to maintain a safe environment for employees residents and visitors.

  • Conduct onsite visits on behalf of the company to carry out detailed internal audits that meet the regulatory NHS and local authority requirements.


Financial Performance

  • Monitor operational performance of the homes to ensure they meet their budgets. Highlight where budgets are under stress.

  • Support Directors in developing strategies to improve financial performance of underperforming homes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working as a Home and/or Operations Manager.

  • Some knowledge of regulation and legislation in a care home environment.

  • An understanding of employment law and HR process is needed.
