Job Title: Operations Manager JD
Company Overview: GMS Worldwide Express ( ) a leading express courier and cargo company operating in the South zone with a strong presence in Karnataka Tamil Nadu Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. With 18 years of experience in the industry we have established ourselves as a key player known for our reliability and efficiency.
Job Location: Bangalore Karnataka
Position Overview: As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operational activities of our company in the Bangalore South zone. This includes effectively managing a large operations team ensuring smooth functioning of operations hubs optimizing transport logistics maintaining service quality standards and fostering strong relationships with franchises and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a large operations team ensuring efficient performance and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Oversee the operations of 7 hubs within the BangaloreSouth zone ensuring seamless coordination and communication between hubs.
- Optimize fleet management activities to ensure timely and costeffective transportation of goods.
- Implement and monitor operational metrics such as SLAs (Service Level Agreements) TAT (Turnaround Time) and quality of service.
- Develop and implement efficient routing strategies for vehicles to minimize delivery times and costs.
- Oversee pickup and delivery management processes to ensure timely and accurate service.
- Manage vendor relationships negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
- Collaborate with franchises across Bangalore to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve any operational issues or challenges that may arise in a timely and effective manner.
- Continuously monitor and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in any stream required MBA in Supply Chain Management or Operations preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management within the express cargo courier warehousing and logistics industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large operations teams of up to 200 people.
- Strong understanding of transport logistics fleet management and operational best practices.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Solid experience in managing operational issues ensuring compliance with SLAs and maintaining service quality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams franchises and external vendors to achieve common goals.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant software applications.
Additional Information:
- Compensation: Competitive CTC (Cost to Company) of > 12 LPA (Lakhs Per Annum). (Last salary CTC is going to the base of new package in offering).
- Notice Period: Maximum 30 days.
- Reporting to: Executive Director at Headquarters in Bangalore.
