Our Award-winning real estate developer/ builder client in the west end of Toronto is looking for a planning law clerk to join their As junior Legal Counsel, reporting to the EVP, you will support various legal work required for multiple development projects in the low-rise, mid-rise, and commercial ;
Your Future Day to Day Career Opportunity Awaits:
- You will work closely with the development team; to lead planning applications and liaise with municipal staff from the Legal and Planning departments
- You will be assisting in legal expertise for zoning and official plan amendments, both applications and appeals, condominium applications and registrations
- Drafting and negotiating municipal agreements which includes site plans, section 37
- Assisting in drafting and reviewing assets and land purchase and sale agreements
- Managing tenant and purchaser issues
- Experience with City of Toronto and Peel region policies and procedures is a priority
- Provide critical legal and planning support as the company expands
Requirements
- Experience in municipal, planning and or real estate matters is amust
- Creative and strategical thinking
- Being able to negotiate internally and externally
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Eager to apply legal skills to planning and development challenges
- Urban Planning or Architectural educational background is an asset
