To direct the accounting, financial reporting and control functions, and preparation of financial statements for Mercy Iowa City and subsidiaries (collectively MIC).Directs all aspects of accounting operations, including cash management, general ledger, accounts payable, chargemaster, receivables, payables, debt compliance and financial reporting. Ensures that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Interprets implications of change in local, state and federal regulation and legislation as they apply to financial operations of MIC. Develops and maintains all necessary accounting policies and system, including general ledger and financial reporting. Analyzing company s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management and key stakeholders as requested. Maintains financial and accounting records for MIC. Designs and maintains internal control systems for financial transaction in all corporations. Develops and implements the accounting, financial reporting, and internal control systems to assure accurate and timely financial reports. Plans, coordinates, and prepares for annual financial statement and third-party auditors. Plans, coordinates, and prepares for annual tax return submissions for all entities.Implements established financial policies and recommends changes, additions, or deletions to policies. Plans, develops, and establishes short and long-range goals for the department, including establishment of departmental policies and procedures, determination of space, equipment and human resource requirements, and development of departmental budgets for administrative review. REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or other related field, required. Master s in Business, Accounting or Finance, preferred. 6 years accounting and auditing experience, required. 3 years in-charge accountant experience, required. 2 years health care experience, specifically in the area of third-party reimbursement, general accounting and budgeting, required. Hands on computer experience with using business systems with high level of proficiency, required. CPA, CMA and/or CIA, preferred.
