Head Teacher

Job description

Our client is an established international school located in Lekki Phase I, Lagos. They are looking for an experienced candidate to join their team as Headteacher.

In this strategic role overseeing the nursery and primary school, the job holder will be providing direction and leadership for the academic function in order to ensure the highest quality education and improved standards of learning and achievement.

Key Responsibilities

• To ensure the smooth running of the academic function and classroom operations.
  

• Work to build capacity and strong teams; line manage members of the academic team.
  

• Contribute substantively to the Senior Leadership Team, and the development of the school s strategic planning.
  

• Curriculum development and promoting innovation in that area, including creating value add solutions and the use and development of appropriate technologies for learning.
  

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• An experienced senior leader with previous working experience in a high standard international school.
  

• Qualified teacher with 15 years plus teaching experience.
  

• At least 5 years of leadership experience in an international school with a minimum of 3 years as a member of the school senior leadership team.
  

• Minimum of a Bachelor s Degree and relevant Teacher Training Qualification. A Master s Degree will be an added advantage.
  

• Experience of working with the National Curriculum of England, a good understanding of EYFS and a grounded understanding of the regulatory and policy initiatives of the Nigerian Ministry of Education.
  

• Experience of managing an inclusive educational setting.
  

• Current with modern pedagogy and advancements in learning delivery.
  

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to promote good relationships with parents and other stakeholders of the school.
  

• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  

• Progressive in the use of technology for the workplace, for effective learning delivery and proven history of deploying online learning infrastructure.
  

Benefits

Salary & Benefits: Salary between N250,000-N350,000 monthly gross (point on the scale and other benefits determined by skills and experience).
