This position is a contract, virtual 1099 The ideal candidates will have experience in the area of Immigration Candidates should have experience with Immigration Law, namely 1) Political Asylum (I-589/765, be able to upload to case portal, prep clients for court appearances, filing documents, fingerprints); 2) Family-Based (I485/I130/I131/I765/G28 Filing these forms and keeping clients up to date on the status); 3) Employment-Based (140/I485/I765, Gathering info and preparing petitions, Keeping clients updated). Fluency in Spanish is a big plus but not Eastern Time Zone or the ability to work in Eastern Time Zone is
Candidates should be proficient in the collection and organization of documents and information from various cases at the firm, meeting with and assisting clients via phone or zoom, drafting and filing of documents pertaining to Immigration matters, namely, Political Asylum, Family-Based & Candidates should feel comfortable relaying messages between various groups and keeping all documents important to the cases they are working on organized in an online ; A team player and ability to work well independently while maintaining a high level of timeliness and attention to detail is a ;

Hours and Compensation
- Hours: Up to 20 hours per week on an "as-needed" basis with a potential for more hours in the

Responsibilities
- Draft and edit legal documents pertaining to Immigration Law in the above-mentioned areas
- E-Filing documents pertaining to Immigration Law in the above-mentioned areas
- Calendaring deadlines, schedulingmeetings
- Meeting with clients via phone or zoom when necessary
- Collecting documentation and information from clients
- Create and maintain electronic case files
- Facilitate the meeting of attorney deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders
- Conduct legal research

Qualifications
- Experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in the above listed areas for 5+ years
- Status must be a full-time freelancer; must not have prior commitments as a W2 employee
- Daytime availability, Monday - Friday
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate
- 8 GB or more RAM, with strong preference for 16 GB; SSD preferred, especially if RAM is on the lower end preferred
- Windows 10 Pro or 11 Pro preferred
- Ability todraft and edit legal documents pertaining to Immigration Law in the above mentioned areas
- Abilityto E-File documents pertaining to Immigration Law in the above mentioned areas
- Abilityto calendar deadlines and schedulingmeetings
- Ability to create and maintain electronic case files
- Ability to facilitate the meeting of attorney deadlines by keeping organized schedules and providing timely reminders
- Ability to conduct legal research
- Spanish speaking is a huge plus (not required)
