About the role
The Executive Director (ED) of Strategy & Operations is tasked with developing long medium and shortterm strategic initiatives and objectives essential for realizing the companys vision and mission. This individual will spearhead the execution of the companys strategy through robust oversight general management corporate goalsetting planning performance monitoring and operational management.
Responsible for daily oversight of the entire business operation the ED plays a pivotal role in transforming the company to achieve operational excellence and prepare for growth and scaling through efficient systems processes automations and workflows. Given the significant role that technology and innovation play at Sankore the ED is also expected to cultivate a strong culture of innovation and automation to facilitate the firm s growth. The ideal candidate will have a substantial background in strategy and technologydriven operational management displaying a talent for enabling strategic alignment operational efficiency and enhancing client experiences.

The ED should possess profound strategy and operational expertise preferably gained in a worldclass financial and/or technology organization and demonstrate strong leadership management and communication skills.

This role will report to the Managing Director/CEO and the Board of Directors of Sankore

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:
Work closely with the CEO to set the longterm vision for the company grounded in a comprehensive understanding of the trends shaping the future of investments and relevant technology.
Develop a business strategy and establish an execution framework that aligns operational activities with the organizations goals.
Design an efficient organizational structure that bolsters the companys strategic objectives.
Lead interactions with the board to ensure their active contribution to and endorsement of the companys strategic objectives.

General Management:
Collaborate with the CEO to identify and recruit leaders for executing the business strategies of the divisions.
Establish internal governance systems to ensure that the performance of various business and operational units aligns with the boardapproved strategy.
Provide leadership and guidance to the heads of the divisions and lead them towards achievement of their strategic objectives.

Operational Management:
Oversee daily company operations within the strategic execution framework of the company.
Strengthen the company s operational core by actively managing essential support functions People & Culture Technology Legal & Risk Management.
Oversee the development and management of the company s financial strategy including budgeting forecasting and resource allocation to ensure the firm s financial health and sustainability.
Build a robust data analytics and insights function to drive growth innovation and enhance customer experience.

Performance Management:
Develop and implement performance metrics and key performance indicators aligned with strategic goals promoting accountability and transparency across all departments.
Lead managerial planning and periodic assessment processes to ensure consistent progress towards the firms goals.
Redesign the firms performance management system for enhanced effectiveness.

Team & Culture Building:
Enhance the capacity and quality of the Sankore team through a strategic update of our people strategy.
Cultivate a culture of excellence innovation transparency collaboration and continuous learning.

Innovation:
Lead initiatives that foster and nurture a culture of innovation within the organization ensuring that new ideas are effectively evaluated incubated and implemented.
Participate in the company s venturebuilding process through strategic oversight.

Client Experience Optimization:
Develop a consumercentric culture focused on deeply understanding clients needs and proactively meeting them through innovative approaches.
Maintain a commitment to employing innovative technology in creating cuttingedge and delightful client experiences.



Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree in Science Engineering Economics and related fields from a reputable
university (minimum of 2:1 or Cum Laude).
MBA/Graduate degree in management strategy finance or similar is a requirement for this role.
A CFA is an added advantage.
Previous CSuite experience in Finance Investments Strategy Product or Consulting roles at top tier global or local firms
Above average level of understanding of the investment and technology landscape globally or locally
Proven track record leading teams towards achieving strategic company objectives.
Deep understanding of efficient organizations structures and how to drive performance.
Strong understanding of how to create an innovative environment.

Requirements Bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer science, Hard science, or any related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred. A minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, preferably in the investment industry or related financial services sector. Proven experience in a managerial role related to technology, innovation and project management. Proven experience in project management, preferably with a focus on special or strategic projects. Has a passion for user experience, and project management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy. Knowledge in driving innovation. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
