Job Description:

Seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Human Resources with extensive exposure to full cycle and well rounded HR functions! As the Director of Human Resources you will play a vital role in overseeing all aspects of human resources management and ensuring compliance with California nonprofit regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organizations mission and goals. Provide guidance and support to senior management on HRrelated matters.
2. Talent Acquisition and Management: Oversee the recruitment and selection process ensuring the organization attracts and retains top talent. Develop and implement effective onboarding and retention programs.
3. Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HRrelated issues. Handle employee complaints and grievances in accordance with California nonprofit regulations.
4. Performance Management: Develop and implement performance management systems to ensure employees are meeting organizational goals. Provide coaching and support to managers on performance evaluation and improvement.
5. Training and Development: Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge. Implement professional development initiatives to support career growth and succession planning.
6. HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations in California including but not limited to wage and hour laws discrimination laws and workplace safety regulations.
7. Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits programs including health insurance retirement plans and leave policies. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and oversee open enrollment processes.
8. HR Administration: Oversee HR administrative functions including recordkeeping payroll processing and HRIS management. Implement best practices to streamline HR processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
• SHRMSCP or SPHR certification strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience preferably in a nonprofit or public sector environment.
• Thorough understanding of California employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership and decisionmaking abilities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
