We are looking for a Director of Operations and Workforce Management in our Pharmacy to lead and optimize our departments operations. This key role involves working with patients healthcare providers and client partners to ensure successful operations leveraging your extensive knowledge of pharmacy processes and client programs in a highvolume environment. The ideal candidate is a strategic and handson leader capable of managing daily operations while aligning them with broader organizational goals. As Director of Operations Pharmacy you will collaborate with various stakeholders including pharmacists healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure efficient and effective delivery of pharmaceutical services maintaining a strong focus on patient care and exceptional customer service all while adhering to compliance and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management:

Oversee and streamline both frontend and backend pharmacy operations to ensure smooth daily activities.

Develop implement and continually improve operational workflows.

Optimize operational efficiency and maintain quality employee performance in line with company expectations.

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and lead pharmacy staff fostering a collaborative and highperformance work environment.

Provide training and professional development opportunities for pharmacy personnel.

Develop workforce management tools for leadership to ensure appropriate staffing utilization.

Conduct performance evaluations and address performance issues as needed.

Develop implement and monitor pharmacy training materials.

Assist with team hiring development and training.

Identify hire and retain quality associates as needed.

Support pharmacy training resources in onboarding and training new employees.

Assist with ongoing team training to ensure quality and proficiency in their roles.

Provide consistent timely coaching and development for direct reports.

Strategic Planning:

Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic plans for the pharmacy department.

Contribute to the development of organizational goals and objectives related to pharmaceutical services.

Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to inform strategic decisionmaking.

Budget Management:

Develop and manage the pharmacy budget ensuring financial goals are met.

Implement costsaving initiatives without compromising the quality of pharmaceutical services.

Oversee policies and procedures for the pharmacy including inventory management prescription processing and returned goods management.

Monitor expenses analyze variances and adjust budgetary allocations as needed.

Quality Assurance:

Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy and safety of pharmaceutical services.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of pharmacy operations.

Utilize performance metrics to manage and monitor team performance ensuring work quality meets or exceeds company expectations and regulatory requirements.

Observe legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding patient confidentiality and proprietary company information.

Comply with state and federal laws including State Board of Pharmacy OSHA HIPAA etc.

Collaboration:

Maintain professional standards during internal and clientfacing interactions.

Serve as the primary point of contact for pharmacy operations with internal program operations teams and external client accounts as directed.

Track KPIs and serve as the link between the pharmacy and operations teams to ensure continuity of operations that meet program expectations.

Lead the implementation of new business opportunities working with internal crossfunctional team members.

Provide timely feedback regarding service failures or customer concerns.

Assist with business development activities including program assessment design and implementation.

Work directly with the executive team to research new business development targets advise on pharmacy components of solutions and participate in prospective client interactions as needed.

Technology:

Be familiar with pharmacy management software and technology.

Evaluate and implement strategies to streamline pharmacy operations as needed.

Ensure effective use of pharmacy management systems and other software tools.

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree.

At least 7 years of proven experience in pharmacy operations management preferred.

Highvolume retail hospital or mailorder pharmacy experience preferred.

Previous personnel/team management experience required.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Workforce management experience strongly preferred.

PBM contract negotiation experience required.

Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.

Flexibility to travel as needed (minimal).

This position is based in the vibrant Louisville KY metro area. A relocation package is available for the right candidate.
