We are seeking a Consultant General Physician/Specialist Internal Medicine who is committed and looking for a change of scene ..

Duties include:
Undertake clinical responsibilities providing patient care; liaison with other units and referring hospitals; maintaining appropriate records and confidentiality; including obtaining and documenting consent.

Provide leadership to the Department and multidisciplinary team, to improve care by being a role model, reviewing and developing care processes, monitoring emerging issues and leading change.

Participate in the general medicine on call roster.

The role primarily will work across General Medicine by providing a seamless continuum across short-stay to long-stay patients. The Specialist will work across Emergency Department and General medical wards; including ADTW (Admissions, Discharge and Transfer ward).

May be requested to provide telehealth support to rural hospitals and/or outreach ward rounds or clinics in rural hospitals.

Ensure organisation, participation, and facilitation in education and research including for medical students, junior medical officers, principal house officers, registrars and senior medical staff; by providing training and supervision. Those involved with teaching are eligible to apply for an academic title with University of Queensland.
