Job Description
We are looking for an exceptional individual to join ExoMatter as CTO. In this role you will partner with the founders to shape the technological future of the company and lead our Development and Implementation Team.
Become part of a young deep tech and software startup based in Munich and revolutionize materials development with us. ExoMatter is a spinoff of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and part of the UnternehmerTUM family of startups. We have a first product on the market with paying customers like Audi and Airbus and a strong upward trajectory.

Tasks
- Chart the Tech Voyage: Collaborate directly with our CEO Josua and the founding team to sculpt our technology roadmap. Youre not just part of the strategy; youre leading it.
- Build and Bolster the Team:Take the helm and scale our crew of brilliant scientists engineers and developers. Your leadership will forge the core of ExoMatters innovation.
- Be the Face of Innovation: Step into the spotlight and evangelize ExoMatters technological prowess at public events in investor meetings and during pivotal customer discussions.
- Master of Communication: Articulate our technology narrative to everyone from interns to investors ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and inspired.
- HandsOn Leadership: Initially dive into the trenches with our Development and Implementation Teams. Whether its coding coordinating efforts or managing clients your handson approach in the first 69 months will lay the groundwork for excellence.
- Trendsetter: Stay vigilant of industry currents and position ExoMatter at the forefront ensuring our edge is as sharp as our technology.
Requirements
- You hold a a Masters degree in Computer Science Materials Informatics Chemistry Physics or a related field
- You have experience in professional Software Engineering at a SaaS and/or Materials Science company or leading research group
- You have managed and built a team before
- Excellent leadership teambuilding and management skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- You have gathered at least 5 years of professional experience
- Experience in a startup is a plus
- You are willing to work on site in our Munich office
- A Maker with a strong sense of ownership and a nothingisimpossible attitude
- Fluent in English German skills are a plus
