Senior Golang Backend Developer

nuumi is a consumer health tech company providing technologyenabled therapies to empower humanity to overcome addictions. Starting with smoking the no.1 cause of preventable death nuumi developed the Fitbit for smokers. We use mobile technology machine learning and wearable technology to further develop the best evidence based quit and relapse prevention strategies. A connected device that automatically adjusts nicotine intake and a companion app with a personalized therapy program based on machine learning. We are growing 50% month over month and now looking to build a senior dev team to support this growth and scale the business.

Tasks

As a member of an agile crossfunctional team you will develop and maintain the backend to our mobile application and work at every stage of the development lifecycle from design to provisioning. You will build modern microservice architectures and eventbased systems fully built on AWS stack and work closely with our data engineers in implementing data pipelines for gathering and processing high volume of the data collected from IoT sensors. You will put in place monitoring for the system and ensure high performance availability and reliability of the services. Above all you are a team player have a cando attitude and like to bring in your ideas in a team discussion.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
• 7 years experience in building scalable distributed systems web applications and RESTful APIs
• Fluent in Golang and the willingness to learn new languages
• Sound knowledge of architecture patterns AWS stack Docker and CI/CD
• Experience with Terraform
• Profound knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
• Focus on in writing wellstructured high quality documented and welltested code

Big plus:

• Experience with authentication and authorization
• Experience with message patterns or/and microservices
• Experience with Spark and/or other Big Data technologies
• Experience in data engineering or ETL pipelines
