Agilious is looking for a proven, high energy, and highly motivated Business Development Associate to join our growing small business company. 

Agilious is an 8(a) certified small business specializing in enabling people and organizations to perform at their highest agility through the pragmatic application of Agile and Lean methods. Our core capabilities include Agile training and coaching, Agile Software Development, and Agile DevOps. The Associate will work closely with the executive and delivery leadership functions daily to lead and execute sustained growth strategies and activities for Federal Government agencies. The Associate will primarily focus on HHS in Federal Health, and several other departments/agencies in Federal Civilian and National Security. 

 

Responsibilities

The Associate’s primary responsibility is to focus on the expansion of our business in an assigned set of current and adjacent customer Agencies. 

BD Operations

  • Work daily with BD team members to maintain a cadence of activities in support of opportunities being progressed through the pipeline. 

  • Meet daily with the BD team to review the status of owned opportunities in the pipeline, including making updates in our pipeline management tool.

  • Follow established processes to progress opportunities from identification to Step 1 qualification, and on to Step 2 where formal capture management practices will be followed towards solicitation release. 

  • Lead or support development of marketing related collateral to include pitch decks, slick sheets, and other tailored meeting/call materials.

Positioning, Market Research, and Opportunity Identification

  • Conduct research on select Federal agencies.

  • Develop account plans for targeted Federal agencies.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with both potential prime and subcontractor partner companies within the targeted agencies space.

  • Identify new opportunities in targeted Federal agencies, to include initial qualification, and entry of opportunity into our pipeline management tool.

Opportunity Capture and Proposal Support

  • Progress opportunities through initial capture activities to include presentation at Step 2 of capture process, which is formal capture/pursuit decision gate:

    • Identification of requirements, including SOWs/PWSs.

    • Understanding of incumbent potential to re-bid.

    • Understanding of the competitive landscape.

    • Identification and engagement of teaming partners.

    • Presentation of initial win and capture strategies.

  • Lead or support development of opportunity-specific capture plans.

  • As required, support proposal activities as content writer, or color team reviewer.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of BD experience in a small to mid-tier government contractor.

  • Familiarity with Agile solutions to include software development and DevOps.

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Clearance: 

There is no requirement for clearance.

 

Location:
Candidate must reside in the Washington DC metro area. The Associate role will be mostly remote, but is required to attend a weekly mix of onsite company meetings, in-person partner meetings and in-person industry meetings/events.
