This is a remote position.
- Manage daytoday bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable and receivable general ledger entries bank reconciliations and payroll processing.
- Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) in a timely and accurate manner ensuring compliance with Australian tax regulations.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data by conducting regular audits reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Prepare financial statements reports and other financial documentation complying with relevant accounting principles and regulations.
- Supervise and provide guidance to junior bookkeeping staff reviewing their work for accuracy and offering assistance when needed.
- Assist in budgeting forecasting and variance analysis to provide valuable financial insights to management.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as accountants and tax professionals to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Stay updated on industry trends changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements to ensure adherence to best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Australian bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles financial analysis and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in using accounting software (Xero or MYOB).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams and clients.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) are a plus.
