Independent Working Chef I

Maydaywokengo is a Chinese restaurant looking for a passionate and motivated Independent Working Chef I to join our kitchen team. We are seeking someone who enjoys working in a dynamic kitchen environment and takes pride in preparing high-quality dishes. You will work closely with our team to maintain excellent food quality hygiene and kitchen organization.

Tasks

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing cutting mixing and organizing food items
• Cook and prepare dishes according to restaurant standards and recipes
• Monitor taste texture color and presentation of dishes and make adjustments when necessary
• Maintain consistent quality cleanliness and food safety standards
• Supervise and support kitchen assistants and junior staff when required
• Monitor stock levels order ingredients and inspect deliveries
• Clean kitchen equipment workstations and kitchen areas daily
• Report technical issues and solve simple equipment malfunctions
• Provide input for menu development and improvements in cooking methods

Requirements

Job Requirements

• Passion for cooking and working in a professional kitchen environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong sense of responsibility and initiative
• Problem-solving and organized working attitude
• Intermediate vocational education (MBO Level 3 / EQF Level 3) preferred
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations
• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
• Previous kitchen experience is an advantage but motivated candidates are encouraged to apply
