Nedstar is a Dutch commodity trading company based in Amsterdam. We trade ethanol across global markets and were a tight-knit team of around 30 people who take our work seriously and each other lightly. We believe AI is transforming how smart teams operate and we want someone to help us figure out exactly how.

This isnt a typical internship. Theres no coffee-fetching no filing and no pretending to be busy. Were offering you something unusual: a full week every week to explore the possibilities of AI and then share what youve found with the whole team.

The Role: AI Explorer

Your single deliverable is a weekly presentation we call The Magic Show. Every week youll stand in front of the team and demonstrate something new surprising or genuinely useful that AI can do. Ideally something that makes peoples jaws drop a little.

How you spend the rest of the week is largely up to you:

• Explore AI tools:play with them break them figure out what theyre actually good at
• Sit with different teams:trading logistics risk management operations. See where AI could make their lives easier
• Identify quick wins:the low-hanging fruit that can save people time reduce errors or spark new ideas
• Build your own understanding:of our business our people and where technology fits in

Think of yourself as our in-house curiosity engine. Youre not here to code. Youre here to discover translate and present.

The Magic Show: What It Looks Like

Once a week you present to the team. It could be 10 minutes or 30 whatever the material needs. The vibe is informal inspiring and a little bit fun. Think: Look what I found and heres why it matters for us. Youll demonstrate live tools share use cases and spark conversations about where we could go next. The end goal is awareness across the team and practical easy-to-implement improvements.

• Genuinely excited about AI:youve already been playing with different tools and have a real point of view
• A natural communicator:you can explain complex ideas simply and youre comfortable presenting to a group
• Intellectually curious:you like understanding how things work and connecting dots between different domains
• Warm and personable:youll be embedding yourself across every team so being approachable and easy to work with matters a lot
• Interested in trading and commodities:you dont need experience but a genuine curiosity about how markets work goes a long way
• Consultancy-minded:you can assess a situation identify whats needed and present a clear recommendation
• Smart enough to find the elegant shortcut:we value resourcefulness over brute force

No coding required. No trading experience needed. What we care about is how you think how you communicate and whether you can bring energy to a room.
