Exciting opportunity for a skilled technical sales and business development professional to join a Pretoria-based engineering company combining strong technical understanding with client-facing sales within the industrial power and mining sectors.

Duties & Responsibilities

Join a market-leading Pretoria-based engineering company part of a large industrial group known for delivering complete engineered industrial power solutions. This organisation focuses on integrated systems rather than catalogue component sales offering solutions across mining power generation utilities automation petrochemical rail and data centre environments.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director this role offers strong growth potential in a technically driven fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in developing new business building and maintaining client relationships identifying engineered solution opportunities and working closely with internal engineering teams to convert technical requirements into practical commercial proposals.

Education:

  • Matric
  • Electrical qualification (National Diploma BTech Degree or Trade Test advantageous)

Job Experience & Skills Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales or business development within industrial electrical or power systems environments
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles including AC/DC systems power resistance batteries motors and drives
  • Proven ability to sell engineered solutions not catalogue products
  • Experience in mining utilities power generation EPC or heavy industrial sectors
  • Ability to engage with engineers maintenance teams and technical stakeholders
  • Experience identifying opportunities such as load testing battery systems resistive solutions and power system applications
  • Strong ability to interpret specifications and translate technical requirements into commercial proposals
  • Proven track record in developing new business and managing long sales cycles
  • Strong client liaison negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage a structured sales pipeline and follow through on opportunities
  • Willingness to travel within South Africa and neighbouring regions
  • Valid drivers license
