Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Install configure and maintain servers storage networks and applications
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues
- Manage backups and disaster recovery processes
- Administer user accounts permissions and access controls
- Support security and compliance initiatives (e.g. ISO 27001)
- Provide desktop/user support and troubleshoot technical issues
- Maintain system documentation and enforce IT policies
- Set up new employee hardware and software
- Implement and maintain network infrastructure (routers switches firewalls)
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies
- Participate in after-hours standby (rotational)
Skills & Experience
- RedHat or LPI Certification (essential)
- Minimum 2 years Linux administration experience
- Solid understanding of networking and server hardware
- Experience with Office 365 administration
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Knowledge of IT security principles and risk management
- Experience supporting end users and desktop environments

Working Environment
- Hybrid role: remote with on-site requirements in Pretoria and a local Data Centre
- Must be able to travel to the Data Centre within 30 minutes when required (24/7 readiness)
- Participation in an after-hours standby rotation
- Reliable power backup and internet connectivity are required for remote work
- Occasional local and international travel may be required
- 6-month probation period with initial on-site involvement
