Opportunity

e-Zinc is seeking an experienced and talented Mechanical Engineer to jointheProduct Development team.

PositionScope andResponsibilities

Design & Analysis

• Lead mechanical design of battery cells and packs including enclosures interconnects and structural components
• Design external enclosures for DC-BESS units coveringcomponentplacementfixingand racking strategy fluid and electrical routing and IP compliance
• Create detailed 3D models engineering drawings and BOMs in SolidWorks
• Conduct tolerance stack-ups and FEA tovalidatedesign integrity and performance
• Select and qualify materials and components against thermal structural environmental and regulatory requirements

Cross-Functional Integration

• Collaborate with electricalcontrolselectrochemical and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet functional integration and DFM requirements
• Lead discussions with external vendors and fabricators for custom component designs and assemblies
• Drive engineering sample assembly andparticipatein hands-on functional testing

Engineering Process

• Lead and contribute to design reviews DFMEA root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive development of test fixtures jigs and assembly processes to support pack and BESS validation
• Support safety and compliance testing to applicable regulatory standards (UL IEC CE)
• Champion the full engineering cycle through integration of internal field and commercial feedback

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineeringor a related engineering discipline

• 5 years of mechanical design experience in energy storage automotive robotics or industrial systems

• Registered with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) or eligible for registration is an asset.

• Demonstratedexpertisein mechanical system design for high-power devices thermal management or structural analysis

• Proficiencyin SolidWorks PDMand simulation tools (ANSYS CFX or equivalent)

• Hands-on experience with prototyping testing and working with external vendors and fabricators

• Strong working knowledge of DFM/DFA GD&T and materialsselectionfor mechanical systems

• Strong communicationskills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment

AdditionalAssets:

• Experience in battery fuel cell or energy storage system design and packaging
• Familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to energy storage (UL 9540 IEC 62619 CE marking)
• Background in electrochemical device packaging or fluid-handling mechanical systems

The expected annual salary range for this role is$80000$100000Finalcompensation will bedeterminedbased on the candidates skills experience and overall fit for the position.
