Senior Electrical Engineer ALCMS & AGL
Job Summary
About The Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design development and implementation of complex electrical systems across airport projects. This role provides technical leadership and expertise overseeing the preparation of detailed design documentation specifications and reports to ensure compliance with industry standards regulatory requirements and client expectations.
The Senior Electrical Engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams mentors junior engineers and manages project schedules and budgets while engaging with clients to understand project requirements and provide strategic input during project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design AGL and ALCMS systems for airport projects including circuitry layouts CCR loading duct bank routing transformer pit layouts and field interfaces
- Prepare electrical drawings specifications calculations and technical reports; coordinate ALCMS/SLCMS integration control philosophies and system interfaces with airport authorities contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with TP312 ICAO FAA CSA/OESC and airport authority standards through rigorous technical review and quality assurance
- Mentor junior engineers and support the professional development of team members through technical guidance and knowledge sharing
- Manage project schedules and budgets while maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders
Qualifications :
**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- Professional Engineer (.) designation in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulator (e.g. PEO)
- Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience
- At least 5 years designing and managing airport electrical systems AGL ALCMS/SLCMS CCRs duct banks grounding systems or medium voltage systems
- Proficiency with AGL and ALCMS products including Honeywell systems ASD PELV and single lamp control systems
- Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards (CEC TP312 ICAO FAA CSA/OESC)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design software
- Excellent communication interpersonal and project management skills with ability to mentor teams
**Preferred Experience**
- ETAP and/or CYMCAP software expertise
- AGL commissioning troubleshooting and temporary systems experience
- Active airfield coordination and phased airport construction experience
- Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient design practices
