Summary of the Role

Thefunction of the Welder is to prep and weld steel and stainless-steel parts using a TIG process as instructed by position alsomaintainsa safe working environment and good housekeeping conditions.

Responsibilities

• Mustmaintain100% commitment to safety policies and procedures

• Help create a safety culture and actively engage the workforce in projects that will help reach our journey to zero incidents

• Set up welding machines based on the job at hand or using a Welding Procedure Specification

• Read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings todeterminethe specific welding requirements

• TIG weld steel and stainless-steel components based on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings

• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards

• Followcreateand helpmaintainWelding Procedure Specifications

• Set up welding cells for serial production runs

• Operate machinery used in the production process orassistmachine operators

• Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities

• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task

• Follow all safety rules and quality standards

• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency

• Perform other duties as trained and qualified for

• Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written

• Requiresproficiencyin math skills including addition subtractionmultiplicationand division in units of measure

• Basic computer skills including MS Word Excelinternetand email

• Strong mechanical maintenance experience and strong knowledge hand and power tools

• Experience with steel and/or stainless steelrequired

• Experience with TIG weldinga must

• Knowledge of raw materials production processes quality control costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods

• Ability toidentifyand measure material

• Ability to produce quality products consistently

• The ability to read andcomprehendblueprints

• The ability to interact effectively with all employees

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience

• One year of TIG welding experience

• Mustbe able to passTIGwelding test within six weeks

• Requiresthe abilityto organize and prioritize workload and be able to interact effectively with all types of people in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

• Must have a mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn about how our products are produced on equipment

• Reliable transportation isa must

• Ability to work nights and weekends asrequired

• Ability to work overtime asrequired

• Background checks and drug screening may berequired(by Company Customer or DOT requirements in working on-site and operating equipment asrequiredorpermittedby law)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an industrial setting

• 2 years of manufacturing experience

• Solid background working with metal

• Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance

• Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills

• Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum Steel Stainless Steel Copper and Brass

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position is based in a production and warehouse setting which may involve exposure to a range of environmental conditions. These include fluctuating temperatures (both hot and cold) varying noise levels exposure to dust and other typical elements of an active industrial accommodations are available to support individuals with disabilities in performing the essential functions of this role.

• Ability to pull push grasp bend lift and carry up to 50lbsindependently on a repeated items may be moved with teamassistanceor mechanical aid.

• Ability to work at varying work-surface levels and machine operation heights.

• Ability toproperly and safely use mechanical equipment and tools including forklifts pallet jacks and other warehouse machinery (training and certification may be required).

• Ability to enter and exit a service vehicle and other mechanical equipment multiple times per day.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves safety glasses steel-toed footwear hearing protection or hard hats depending on task or site conditions.
