Introduction to Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions

The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRocks portfolio construction asset allocation and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of the firms index factor and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver investment outcomes and ground-breaking alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds separate accounts model portfolios and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels.

MASS is looking for a motivated individual to join ourDCInvestmentSolutions team in EMEA. This team designsandmanagestailored wholeportfolio solutionsforDefined Contribution (DC)pension schemesoriented around includes leadingon all aspects of portfolio construction and asset allocation to solve ourDCpension clientsinvestment challenges.

Role Responsibilities

  • You will be part of the EMEADCPensions Solutions team responsible for the design implementationand ongoing management of whole portfolio solutions for existing and prospectiveDC pensionsclientsto meet their uniqueobjectivesand constraints.

  • Primary investment team interfaceworkingdirectly with clientsandclient relationship managersto understandeachclientsobjectivesand constraints. Keep up to date with industry news events researchand regulations and ensure these are reflected in solution design.

  • Perform analyses give opinionsand generatenew ideasto support investment decision making across all stages of the investment process. Includesstrategic asset allocation tactical asset allocation management style selection/blending/sizing managerselection risk budgeting implementation performance measurement/attributionand risk management.

  • Collaboratewitha range of internalpartnerfunctionsto deliverthe best possibleclient investment outcomesincluding portfolio construction researchers implementation specialists manager researchers risk managers and asset class specialist investment teams.

  • Drivethe continuous evolution of the investment process byconstantlyseekingperformanceimprovements challenging the status quo andproactivelybringingnew ideas.

  • Activelyparticipateincross-team research initiatives togenerate andexplore new investment ideasin areas includinglifecycle investing responsible investment retirement income solutionsand private projects withmultipleteam membersand prioritiesto seeideasthrough to completion and implementation in client portfolios.

  • Support ourcommercialgrowth targets bysupplyinginvestment content to RFP responses pitch materials marketingmaterialsand other external communications.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of7yearsprovenexperienceideallyincludingdirect work with DC pension -asset or whole-portfolio solutions experience at an asset managerinvestment consultant orDC pension provideris preferred.

  • Solid understandingof financial marketsand multi-asset investing. Ideally some experience in one or more of the following areas:Lifecycle investingresponsible investmentretirement income solutions private markets.

  • CFAFIAand/or CAIA encouraged but notrequired.

  • Consistenttrackrecordof academic achievement workethic and leadership.

  • A genuine inclination for quantitative analysis and the ability to work through sophisticated problems and challenges toprovideinnovativeinsights.

  • Technologycurious with experience using dataanalyticsand AI tools to improve the efficiency and quality of the investment process.

  • Excellent communication skillsable to communicateoptimallywith a range of internal and externalpartnersand ableto explain complex topics to non-technical individuals in writing as well asverbally.

  • Curious self-starterpassionateabout execution with results-oriented work ethic and professional disposition.

  • Strong teammate who takes a collaborative and cooperative approach to tasksexperiencedworking withmultiplepartnerstodeliver on projects on time and to a highstandardbutcan work independently.

  • Organized andthorough able toprioritiseand multi-task quickly efficiently adapting to new situations in a fast-pacedenvironment.
