Responsibilities
Must hold a MA DESE teaching license. Preference will be given to those certified in the content being taught. Facilitate a structured learning environment for daily instruction for two class sections create daily lesson plans aligned to the summer overview devised by the Content Director grade student work and provide ongoing feedback to students. Provide supervision of students.
Description of Program
Summer High School Credit Recovery is a free program designed to support students who have earned a 40-59% to regain credit in their courses so as not to fall off track for graduation. The program is intended to bridge academic gaps with a focus on courses that are required to meet the WPS graduation requirements.
Site Location:
Waltham High School
Compensation
Contractual rate of $40 per hour for up to a total of 110 hours for the summer (may be less if job sharing) for a total of up to $4400.
Terms of Employment
The summer program will be held from July 6th to August 6th. Program times for students will be Monday - Thursday. Work consists of 4 hours of daily teaching 30 minutes of supervision of students and 1 hour of prep daily for 19 days (no prep on the last day of summer school). There will be a 1 hour prep meeting with the site coordinator prior to summer school. Preparation during summer school may take place on site or from home. Job sharing is allowable to be determined by hiring managers. If you are interested in job sharing and have a partner educator you would like to do this with please indicate that in your application.
