Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead DBA specializing in MS SQL Server to manage optimize and secure enterprise database environments. The role involves leading a team of database administrators ensuring high availability performance tuning and implementing best practices for database management across critical systems.

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of DBAs providing technical guidance and oversight.

• Design implement and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in production and non-production environments.

• Ensure database performance availability scalability and security.

• Perform database performance tuning query optimization and indexing strategies.

• Manage backup recovery and disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution.

• Implement and support High Availability solutions such as Always on Availability Groups clustering and replication.

• Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues.

• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for database design and deployment.

• Handle database migrations upgrades and patching activities.

• Establish and enforce database standards policies and procedures.

• Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and implement preventive measures.

• Ensure compliance with security and data governance policies.

Skills:

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in a technical leadership or team lead role.

• Strong knowledge of T-SQL query optimization and performance tuning.

• Experience with SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure SQL AWS RDS) is a plus.

• Hands-on experience with backup/recovery tools and automation scripting (PowerShell SQL scripts).

• Understanding of database security encryption and compliance standards.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate or SQL Server certifications.

• Experience with DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines and database automation.

• Exposure to monitoring tools like SQL Server Profiler Extended Events or third party tools.
