ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional duties may be assigned.
- Background knowledge of the sport.
- Experience in playing and coaching the sport.
- Dedicated throughout the entire season with scheduling practices.
- Working with the Varsity Junior Varsity and Freshmen coaches.
- Scheduling summer camp for the High School and the lower grade players in order for the players to improve their skills in the off-season.
- Scheduling open gym and games throughout the summer for the players to have the opportunities to improve and work together in the off-season.
- Commitment to the players. Make sure the players know that you are there for them.
- Responsible for the players on and off the court. For example riding the bus to away games and at practice.
- Communication with the parents is very important. Even with the younger players going and watching their little league games. Letting the community know how dedicated you are to the program.
- Holding Tryouts at the beginning of the season to pick the team.
- Keeping the players committed to doing well with academics and basketball.
- Developing well-rounded individuals so after they graduate they have many different opportunities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Must hold a valid Missouri Teaching Certificate.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
- Must have the ability to communicate and interact effectively.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
