MTSS ELEMENTARY MATH INTERVENTIONIST 2.90

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Enhance learning for all students by supporting multi-tiered systems of support for mathematics in kindergarten through fifth grade. The MTSS math interventionist uses district and building data to coordinate evidence-based math interventions and extensions as appropriate. The math interventionist is part of the district intervention team supporting instructional and assessment practices at all tiers of instruction with an emphasis on data driven short-cycle interventions that increase student proficiency. The role supports the district MTSS goals as well as individual building needs. This position will involve travel and support to multiple elementary campuses. The successful interventionist partners with district and building teams as well as families to support multi-tiered systems of support with a focus on academic gains. Please note that this role is supported by external grant funding. As such the positions duration and scope are tied to the specific terms and lifecycle of the grant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree or higher preferably in mathematics.
In-depth knowledge of how conceptual understanding builds in all domains of mathematics including the 8 mathematical practices.
Effective one-on-one small & large group facilitation and communication skills.
Demonstrated understanding of the varied purposes of assessment (screening diagnostic progress monitoring formative and achievement); ability to select assessments to meet these purposes; capacity to use assessment results to inform instruction.
Demonstrated understanding of the cultural ethnic gender and religious diversity of students staff families and community.
Successful classroom teaching experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Recommend targeted instruction interventions and instructional resources based on analysis of student assessment data.
2. Build strong collaborative and trusting relationships with teachers instructional support staff and administrators.
3. Plan model and co-teach within the MTSS model to advance students mathematics achievement.
4. Support all staff in study of data and instructional tools that support high quality mathematics learning for all.
5. Analyze district-wide assessment data in the company of colleagues to support program analysis and implementation.
6. Facilitate grade/team-level professional learning within the designated area of focus including engaging in job embedded professional learning as both a facilitator and learner.
7. Collaborate with teachers and administrators around content specific/ building professional learning needs.
8. Supports MTSS leadership team and Instructional Leadership Team as appropriate.
9. Work directly with classroom staff on implementation and growth of proactive restorative practices and equitable culturally sustaining classroom instruction.
