The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and student-centered Elementary Teacher to teach core content areas and build a joyful structured academically strong classroom for grades K2 teachers teach all core content areas including literacy math science social studies and social-emotional grades 35 teachers typically specialize in ELA Math or Science/Social Studies allowing them to deepen content expertise and collaborate closely with grade-level teams.

Teachers use EL Education for ELA and Eureka Math for mathematics to deliver standards-based instruction that supports strong academic growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong elementary instructional practice excellent classroom management and a deep belief in the brilliance and potential of all students. This is a meaningful opportunity for an educator who understands that elementary school is foundational to students confidence identity independence and long-term academic success.

What Youll Do

Instruction & Student Support

  • Teach standards-based lessons aligned to your grade level and role whether teaching all core content areas in K2 or specializing in ELA Math or Science/Social Studies in grades 35
  • Create a structured engaging classroom culture with clear expectations strong routines and high levels of student engagement and accountability
  • Differentiate instruction to meet a range of student needs including intervention acceleration and enrichment
  • Support students social-emotional growth and help them develop the skills needed to be successful learners and community members

Planning Assessment & Data Use

  • Internalize and prepare purposeful lessons aligned to grade-level standards and curriculum expectations
  • Use student work formative assessments and summative data to adjust instruction and monitor progress
  • Identify student strengths misconceptions and gaps in order to plan targeted support

Collaboration & Family Engagement

  • Collaborate with grade-level content special education multilingual learner and leadership teams to support student success
  • Partner with families to communicate student progress strengths and areas for growth
  • Contribute to a positive school culture rooted in care accountability and shared responsibility

Who You Are

  • Deep belief in the limitless potential of all students and commitment to helping them thrive as global citizens
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution required
  • Pennsylvania elementary teacher certification or active progress toward certification preferred
  • Experience working in urban school communities and a commitment to building strong relationships with students families and staff preferred
  • Experience with EL Education Eureka Math or other high-quality instructional curricula preferred
  • Strong understanding of effective instructional practices student engagement and classroom culture
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to build clear routines high expectations and a positive classroom environment
  • Ability to use student data to adjust instruction address gaps and accelerate growt.h

Compensation

Hebrew Publics compensation model SuRGE Supporting Rewarding and Growing Educators is designed to recognize the skill commitment and impact strong teachers bring to classrooms.

After your first year you may be eligible for 5% or 10% increases annually based on your classroom impact without needing additional graduate coursework. SuRGE also includes built-in salary enhancements for valid Pennsylvania certification and hard-to-fill roles offering a transparent and accessible path for educators to grow their compensation while doing meaningful work with students.
