Department Overview

The Commercial Management function overseas presales and contract management activities across the Australia and New Zealand business. It provides trusted advice expertise and resources that enable Motorola Solutions to win and deliver successful contracts and grow a sustainable and valued business for both Motorola Solutions and our customers.

As the Commercial Manager you will be involved at all stages of the bid and contract cycle from advising on and helping to shape commercial deals through to contract negotiation. This includes tender review proposal drafting and reviewing negotiating and finalising contracts that support business objectives.

The Commercial Manger role represents a vital conduit between various internal stakeholders. You will occupy a central position drawing together the knowledge and input of other areas and functions including Sales Engineering Service/Project Delivery Legal Finance Procurement and Insurance.
As highly visible external facing role you will cultivate and maintain strong trusted relationships with our customers


Job Description

The Commercial Management function overseas presales and contract management activities across the Australia and New Zealand business.

As a Commercial Manager you are a strategic business partner involved at all stages of the bid and contract cycle shaping deals reviewing tenders and leading negotiations to support business objectives. You will occupy a central position drawing together input from Sales Engineering Legal Finance and Procurement to grow a sustainable and valued business for Motorola Solutions and our customers.


Basic Requirements

Essential Criteria:

  • Education: Tertiary Qualified in a relevant Business related degree
  • Experience: 35 years in Commercial Management or a similar role ideally within an IT managed services or technology environment.
  • Core Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple work demands meet tight deadlines and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Security: Ability to attain and maintain Australian government (Baseline) security
  • clearances.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Advanced Credentials: CA/CPA or other commercial-related postgraduate studies
  • Complex Deals: 5 years of experience negotiating complex Government contracts including Public-Private Partnerships (PPP)
  • Procurement Knowledge: Deep understanding of Government procurement processes and large enterprise customer requirements.
