Position : Senior Manager - Engineering (Utilities)

Role : Section Head

Positing Reports to : HOD - Engineering @ Daman

Key Responsibility Areas:

A) Budgetary Control and Improvement :

1. Provide inputs for creation of annual department budget (Opex and Capex).

2. Track adherence to the budget. Support Head-Engineering in implementing corrective actions for any non-adherence.

3. Implement CEPs to help enhance plant efficiency.

B) Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization :

1. Monitor efficiency of Utility Plant equipment water system; implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance capacity utilization and machine efficiency.

2. Suggest and implement best practices.

3. Lead cost reduction efforts by building a consumption plan that incorporates validated team inputs/ideas.

4. Track and ensure that daily consumption of energy stays within acceptable limits.

5. Suggest and implement energy and water conservation initiatives.

6. Evaluate ideas for and ensure execution of small plant improvement projects.

7. Track and maintain NPA for potential future use. Create monthly reports of the same.

C) Utility and Water System Operation and Maintenance :

1. Review schedules for effective preventive and predictive maintenance of Utility and water system equipment.

2. To Prepare monthly reports and PNG HSD and electricity consumption.

3. Oversee adherence to all maintenance schedules and resolve complex issues arising from breakdown; line-visits for the same.

4. Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance of machines/equipment.

5. Lead breakdown maintenance of critical equipment to ensure no/minimum loss of production.

6. Engage with critical Vendors and OEMs to negotiate for purchase of machines AMC contracts.

7. Schedule and arrange transport for disposal of engineering waste.

8. Management of vendors & contract workers.

9. Review approved service bills of AMC vendors.

10. To verify purified water storage and distribution systems.

D) Machine/ spares purchase and installation :

1. Review inventory tracker to aggregate spares requirement and monitor inventory cost.

2. Perform Initial tech. evaluation of vendor/OEM bids.

3. Visit and engage with vendors for purchase of critical machines/spares.

4. Follow up for receipt of imported machines/spares.

5. Review change control document (post-installation).

6. Provide inputs for preparation/updation of engineering drawings.

7. Develop the preventive maintenance procedure & schedule of new equipment.

E) Documentation :

1. Review Engineering SOPs post updating by supervisor.

2. Consolidate and analyses daily reports of breakdowns maintenance calibrations installations etc.

3. Review of qualification activity.

F) Audit and compliance :

1. Monitor adherence to quality cGMP GAMP and GEP standards and all SOPs.

2. Support implementation of EHS initiatives and ensure adherence to safety standards.

3. File documents for plant certification for ISO/ OHSAS.

4. Coordinate and prepare for external and internal audits. Resolve queries where relevant.

5. Suggest and implement CAPA in case of audit observations/ deviation.

6. Participate in risk assessment for change control.

G) People Development :

1. Develop capability of subordinates through providing functional and technical guidance

2. Identify training needs for the subordinates

3. Nominate self and subordinates for internal/external trainings and ensure attendance

4. Ensure goal setting and performance appraisal of team and recommend them for promotions

5. Conduct technical interviews for subordinate hiring and recommend suitable candidates to HR.
