Job Title: Buyer

Position Summary
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager the Buyer is responsible for purchasing inventory maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring product availability to meet customer demand while balancing cost service and risk. The ideal candidate is one that brings a strong sense of urgency is proactive with communication with both internal and external partners and has a customer-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily purchasing activities to maintain optimal inventory levels across assigned product categories
- Monitor demand forecasts and inventory positions to prevent stockouts and overstock situations
- Issue and manage purchase orders for assigned suppliers ensuring accuracy in pricing quantities and delivery timelines as well as internal production orders
- Follow up with suppliers to expedite orders negotiate pricing and terms and resolve delivery or quality issues
- Analyze purchasing data to identify trends risks and cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain system data including lead times pricing and supplier information
- Work closely with operations and logistics for efficient inventory flow processes and with sales and customer service to support customer requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within procurement and overall supply chain processes
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain (industrial manufacturing/ distribution experience is an asset)
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management Business or a related field preferred (SCMP ASCM certifications are an asset)
- Strong proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Epicor experience is an asset)
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
- You act with appropriate urgency to various trends and ad hoc events to serve our customer base
- Knowledge of electrical and automotive components is an asset
Work Arrangements and Salary
- Location: Oakville ON L6H 6R1
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid
- Salary Range:CA$50000.00-CA$65000.00 per year
