About the role

You will have the ability to build and sustain relationshipswith young people in a range of contexts and settings and take account of the complex lives young people live and bring about positive change.
Havering Youth Influence and Participation Team is part of an integrated and systemic model of working across the borough. Working with colleagues from across our local partnership you will offer support and deliver programmes and detached outreach provision with young people from the wider Havering Community.
The team deliver both open access and targeted youth work sessions from the MyPlace Youth and Community Centre in Harold Hill the Councils flagship multi-million-pound youth and community centre as well as other community venues. The team hosts the Children in Care Youth Club Youth Parliament a SEND provision and coordinates trips and activities for young people in the is a detached youth work offer which takes place in known hotspots across the borough. 1 to 1 targeted casework is completed with young people who are at risk of exploitation to reduce risk factors and improve their confidence.
As one of two Targeted Youth Coordinators you can expect to hold a caseload of young people providing 1 to 1 targeted casework as well as managing a team of Targeted Youth Support Practitioners and Youth Support Workers.
About You
As Targeted Youth Co-ordinator you will
Have significant experience of working with young people with an understanding of the range of issues that impact on their lives and experiences.
Bring some experience of managing and motivating a team.
Have the ability to develop relationships with staff from other teams departments and external agencies including schools/alternative provisions.
Work in partnership with Childrens Services Education Voluntary Sector and Housing.
Demonstrate curiosity about the needs of Haverings youth population
Have an understanding of contextual safeguarding and risks associated with extra-familial harm
Be passionate about co-production with young people to co-create and design services to meet their needs.
Be prepared to undertake evening and weekend work as needed
