Job Summary
Essential Functions
Serve as a navigator and advisor for prospective and current ESL students which includes but is not limited to career counseling goal-setting helping students navigate the adult education and higher education systems and processes and introducing students to SCC programs of potential interest. Assist with the scheduling planning and conducting of ESL orientations; supervise the testing team. Assist with student intakes testing orientations and class registration. Assist in planning and development of marketing public relations and promotional material. Assist in recruitment and community education of the program and services provided by the program and the College. Serve as a Member of the Adult Education Team: Attend meetings as scheduled; contribute to meetings in constructive ways; communicate regularly and respectfully with supervisor and others in the department; exercise professionalism and teamwork. Promote a Culture of Belonging Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students faculty members and college employees feel welcomed valued and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the Colleges policies and programming related to access fair employment and equal opportunities for all.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Education or a directly related field. One (1) year of experience in teaching and program management/coordination. One (1) year of experience working with non-native English language learners. OR Associates degree plus two (2) or more years experience in teaching or working with non-native English language learners
