Periodontal Dental Assistant
Location: Springfield Massachusetts 01103
Schedule: Day Shift 5 Days/Week 8 Hours/Day
Duration: 13 Weeks
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Periodontal Dental Assistant to support specialized dental procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will assist with both surgical and non-surgical periodontal treatments while ensuring exceptional patient care accurate documentation and strict adherence to sterilization and infection control standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Assist with periodontal procedures including scaling and root planing implants tissue grafting and other surgical treatments
- Take and process dental X-rays as required
- Maintain accurate patient records charting and clinical documentation
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Ensure compliance with OSHA infection control and sterilization protocols
- Monitor and manage inventory of dental supplies and instruments
- Support scheduling patient communication and other front-office tasks as needed
- Maintain a clean organized and collaborative clinical environment
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience required
- Prior experience in periodontal surgical or pediatric dental settings preferred
- Strong understanding of dental procedures terminology and clinical workflows
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Experience assisting with X-rays room setup and instrument handling
Education
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program required
Certifications
- X-Ray Certification required
- Dental Assistant Certification preferred
