About the Role
Were looking for an Inside Sales Engineer who enjoys fast-paced customer interaction and thrives in a high-volume phone-based this role youll work directly with the regional sales team to support growth by developing existing accounts qualifying new opportunities and serving as a technical consultant for customers and internal partners.
Youll be the person who can connect the dots between what a customer needs and the right product/application solutionwhile keeping leads moving through the funnel with disciplined follow-up strong CRM habits and confident communication.
What Youll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Lead Qualification & Inside Sales Execution
- Follow up on inbound leads and generate new opportunities through outbound calls and emails to convert interest into sales.
- Understand customer needs and requirements ask great questions and qualify opportunities before routing them to the appropriate sales team members for closure.
- Research accounts identify key players and generate interest in Yokogawa solutions.
Technical Sales Support (Sales Engineering)
- Provide application and product selection support for incoming sales leads and sales support channel personnel.
- Complete or assist in creating RFQ responses and other technical-commercial documentation for prospective customers.
- Perform online product demos for prospective customers and support the sales team with technical content as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Customer Relationships
- Work in a team environment to build strong relationships with Product Management Marketing Sales Channel partners and Order Management to move opportunities forward.
- Develop meaningful relationships with customers to encourage trust loyalty and repeat business.
CRM & Operational Discipline
- Manage maintain and document all incoming sales leads and activities in CRM to ensure visibility accuracy and strong handoffs.
- Support marketing efforts (as needed) including trade shows exhibits and events; attend periodic sales training.
Success Measures (How Performance is Evaluated)
- Consistent contribution to territory growth targets and overall quotas
- Lead conversion quality: speed-to-lead qualification accuracy and quality of opportunities routed to the field
- CRM accuracy and activity discipline (clean documentation timely follow-up strong pipeline hygiene)
- Customer experience: responsiveness technical accuracy and professionalism on calls/emails
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Education
- B.S. in Engineering preferred.
Experience
- This is an early career role with strong growth potential.
- Previous experience in an outbound call center inside sales or a related sales environment is preferred.
Skills & Strengths (Call Center Sales Engineering Fit)
- Strong phone presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Energetic outgoing and friendly demeanor; comfortable building rapport quickly.
- Strong problem identification and objection-handling skills; confident guiding conversations toward next steps.
- Highly organized and able to multitask prioritize and manage time effectively in a high-activity environment.
