Apigee X API Platform Engineer

We are seeking a specialist ApigeeX Engineer to join our GenAI Studios and Platform Modernisation teams during a period of significant technological evolution. This is a unique opportunity to sit at the critical intersection of Enterprise API Management and the GenAI revolution.

In this role you wont just be managing gateways or performing routine maintenance. You will be a core architect of the foundational infrastructure that enables secure scalable and AI-driven services across the enterprise. As we transition toward an AI-first ecosystem you will be instrumental in designing and integrating LLM guardrails and advanced security controls directly into our platform flows. Your work will ensure that our modernization initiatives arent just current but are future-proofed against the rapidly shifting demands of the global AI landscape.

What Youll Be Doing

• Architecting Solutions: Lead the delivery of robust API Gateway solutions using ApigeeX.

• AI Integration: Innovate by integrating LLM guardrails and AI-based controls directly into API and platform flows.

• Infrastructure as Code: Build manage and scale environments using Terraform pipelines to ensure seamless infrastructure delivery.

• Platform Management: Configure and optimise ApigeeX environments to meet high-performance modernization initiatives.

• Collaborate: Work as a key technical peer within cross-functional delivery teams bridging the gap between platform stability and project-specific innovation.

Qualifications :

We are looking for a cloud-native expert who thrives in automated environments. You should bring:

• ApigeeX Mastery: Deep hands-on experience with ApigeeX including API gateway design and management.

• Terraform Expertise: Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) specifically building and maintaining Terraform pipelines.

• AI/ML Familiarity: Experience (or a very strong interest) in integrating LLM-based controls or AI safety guardrails into platform architectures.

• Cloud-Native Mindset: A solid understanding of cloud-native architectures security protocols and modern CI/CD practices.

• Communication: The ability to translate complex technical requirements into scalable platform solutions while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
