Job Summary
The Maintenance / Construction Worker is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance repair and light construction tasks across apartment communities and facilities. This role supports daily operations unit turns preventative maintenance and capital improvement projects while ensuring safety quality and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Repairs
- Perform routine maintenance including plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry and general repairs
- Troubleshoot and repair issues in apartments common areas and building systems
- Respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner
- Complete work orders with proper documentation (notes photos materials used)
Construction & Projects
- Assist with renovation projects unit turns and upgrades (drywall flooring cabinets painting etc.)
- Perform demolition framing installation and finish work as assigned
- Support capital improvement projects such as roofing paving irrigation and exterior upgrades
- Ensure work meets quality standards and project timelines
Preventative Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections of units buildings and grounds
- Identify and correct potential issues (leaks water waste safety hazards)
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
Team & Vendor Support
- Work collaboratively with maintenance team and supervisors
- Assist with vendor coordination when needed
- Support emergency repairs and after-hours calls as required
Tools Requirement (Mandatory)
Employees must supply and maintain their own basic hand and diagnostic tools necessary to perform job duties including but not limited to:
- Voltmeter (multimeter)
- Power drill/driver with bits
- Hammer
- Screwdrivers (Phillips and flathead)
- Adjustable wrench and pliers
- Tape measure
- Utility knife
- Basic HVAC and plumbing hand tools
Note: Specialized tools and large equipment may be provided by the company as needed.
Travel Requirement
- This position requires regular travel between multiple properties and job sites
- Employees must be willing to travel to different cities as needed to complete assigned work
- Occasional overnight stays may be required depending on project location and schedule
- Travel may include short-notice assignments to support urgent repairs or projects
Qualifications Required
- 2 years of maintenance or construction experience
- Basic knowledge of plumbing electrical HVAC and carpentry
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Preferred
- Trade certifications (HVAC plumbing electrical)
- Experience in multifamily or property management
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor
- Time management and ability to prioritize tasks
